2017 Soleggio

Soleggio, which means sunshine in Italian, represents the sunshine-ripened grapes, which make up this Super Tuscan style blend and reflect the tradition of Alfredo’s winemaking roots. Sangiovese provides the bright fruit, Cabernet Sauvignon the structure, while Merlot adds balance and spice. New with the 2017 vintage, we have added a dash of Malbec to increase the complexity and bring a slight jamminess to the fold. 

This sticky and rich wine opens with the classic Soleggio profile of dark cherry and figs. Structured tannins provide notes of black pepper, toast, and coffee, which linger in a smooth and lasting finish. A great balance of acid allows this full body red-blend to be enjoyed ay any time, and really shines when paired with a hearty and flavorful meal that includes your favorite roasted meat.
